[SWToR]Logs Real Time Combat Log Parser Install Guide
To be able to read the combat log data produced by The Old Republic game while you are playing it is neccessary to install a small program on the computer you play the game on. This small, non-intrusive program will read your combat log and process it, allowing the program to display optional in-game overlayed combat meters for personal and group combat data.
This program was created by [SWToR]Logs and requires no special access to your PC and gathers no information other than the BioWare Star Wars : The Old Repbulic Combat Log data from your PC. No data is transmited to any 3rd parties or other organisations, the combat log data is transfered only to the [SWToR]Logs central server for aggregation, analysis and subsequent display in graphical and tabular form on this web site.
This install process had been checked and verified on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The only pre-requisite is that .NET Framework 4 is installed. If you do not have this on your PC it can easily be installed directly from the Microsoft .NET 4 Client Profile website.
Below is an simple step by step download and installation guide for the SWToR Combat Meters software, the screen shots were taken using Chrome, but the acctual steps for download are simmilar for all browsers. Clicking on a screen shot thumb nail will display the full size image for more clarity. If you are having problems with the download or installation please visit or forums to check for answers or request support. The installation package is a Microsoft Click-Once install and once installed will automaticaly check for new versionf rom time to time and prompt you to upgrade if neccessary.
To start the download of the SWToR Combat Log Uploader and Combat Meters click the green down load button either on the home page or here, or the "Download" link at the top of every page. This will initiate the download of the setup.exe required to install the click-once SWToR Combat Meters software.
Once the download is ready to start you will either be prompted to save the "setup.exe" file or your browser will automaticaly save the file to your selected download folder (as indicated in the scrrenshot). Ensure that you save the file when prompted and make a note of where the file has been stored.
Once the download completes the downloaded "setup.exe" needs to be opened to begin the acctual installation, most browsers offer a way to open the file directly after download (e.g. the screen shot shows how Chrome prompts to open the file by clicking the small arrow near the downloaded file indication at the bottom of the screen). Select Open/Run to execute the file.
NOTE:It has been brought to my attention that some browsers and/or anti virus software are reporting the setup.exe program as mal-ware. This is a false indication and there is nothing malicious contained in the setup.exe or the [SWToR]Logs Combat Log Parser software.
When the setup.exe program runs it will display a warning box indicating that that "The Publisher could not be verified". This is beacause at the moment I'm not rich enough to spend the £200 per-anmum that is required to purchase a code signing certificate to be able to sign my install package.
Click the "Run" button to accept the warning and continue with the installation.
The setup will then verify any specific requirements and check the latsest version details, this should take no more than a few seconds.
Once installation has been verified another, and final, "Publisher cannot be verified" warning is displayed. Again, this is because the install package and software is not digitaly signed with a code signing certificate.
Continue the installation by accepting the warning and clicking "Install".
The Click-Once installer will now download and install all the neccessary components of the [SWToR]Logs software and install these on your computer. A progress bar will be displayed as this takes place. The download is realtively small (about 6 Meg) and will not take long, depending on your line speed.
Allow this process to finish to complete the installation of the software.
When the final download and install has completed the [SWToR]Logs Combat Log software will automaticaly start and display the main control panel, as shown in the screen shot.
This indicates that the download and installation process has completed successfully and the software is now ready to configure before final use.
